What is an Exercise Physiologist?
An Exercise Physiologist are health professional that specialise in prescribing exercise and physical activity in to aid in the management of chronic medical conditions, chronic pain or injury rehabilitation. Accredited Exercise Physiologists are registered with Exercise & Sports Science Australia, have a Medicare Provider number and are trained members of the health and medical sector.
What will your session look like?
You will undergo an initial session (80-90 min) designed to thoroughly understand your needs, current feelings, goals, and medical history. During this session, I may conduct various physical tests (if deemed appropriate) to establish a baseline and ensure your safety while determining your capabilities. These tests may encompass assessments such as blood pressure, resting heart rate, and specific outcome measures tailored to your individual condition and objectives. The exercises prescribed will be based on the results of these tests and your stated goals. Additionally, home exercises may be recommended to facilitate progress between sessions. Upon completion of your program, our aim is to seamlessly integrate you into a long-term solution that aligns with your needs, enabling you to sustain positive changes for a happier, healthier life.
Rebate of Fees | No GP referral is necessary.
Anyone can book a Private Exercise Physiology session at any time without a referral. I specialise in prescribing based on how you present and there is no such thing as a one size fits all. You do not have to have a chronic or complex condition, you may want to work on general fitness or injury prevention or just improving at a current sport activity. However, our Exercise Physiologist is a registered allied health professional and as such you may be eligible to receive a partial or full rebate of your sessions through Private Health Insurance (please refer to your fund), Medicare (Enhanced Primary Care Plan), Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), WorkSafe Victoria, NDIS (self managed and cased managed only) and TAC.
Please refer to funding requirements below, or call on 0412 237 947 for more information.
